How We Fit Wraps collects, uses and protects personal information.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

1. Who we are

We Fit Wraps (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs the website wefitwraps.uk, a directory that helps people find independent vehicle wrap, vinyl graphics and signage installers across the UK. We are the “data controller” for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.

You can contact us about anything in this policy using our contact form.

2. What personal information we collect, and why

Installers who register

When an installer registers a team, we collect: contact name and business name; email address and phone number; address, postcode and town; the services and skills offered; day rates, travel terms, overnight costs and team size; vehicle sizes and fitting-bay details; any photos uploaded; and the login details for their account.

Why: to create and run their listing, show them to customers looking for an installer, and pass customer enquiries on to them. Legal basis: performing our agreement with the installer (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in running the directory (Article 6(1)(f)).

Customers searching for an installer

To find installers near a job, you can enter a job location (a postcode or place name), the number of installers and days needed, and a skill. We do not store these searches or link them to you. The location you enter is sent to the mapping services listed in section 5 so that distances can be worked out.

Customers sending an enquiry

When you press “Contact” in a map pop-up, a form opens where you enter your name, email address and message. It is sent to us together with the installer(s) you are interested in, the details of the job you searched for and a reference number. Why: to pass your enquiry to the installer(s) concerned, keep a record of it, and answer any follow-up. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract is made (Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in running the service (Article 6(1)(f)).

People who use the contact form

If you send a message through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, what you are contacting us about and your message. The form emails this to us; it is not stored on the website. Why: to read and reply to your message. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Article 6(1)(f)), or taking steps at your request before a contract is made (Article 6(1)(b)). We keep these emails for up to 24 months.

Visitors generally

Like most websites, our web server automatically records your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site working. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).

3. What the public can and cannot see

An installer’s name, business name, address, email address, phone number and website are never shown to visitors on this website. Visitors see only a label based on the installer’s nearest town (for example “Exeter Installer”), the services offered and the approximate location on the map. Prices are shown only to visitors who are signed in. All enquiries are routed through us.

When we pass an enquiry on, we share with the installer(s) the details of the job and, where needed to arrange the work, your contact details.

4. Cookies

This website only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work, such as the cookies that keep a registered installer signed in. We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so we do not show a cookie consent banner. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but signing in will then not work.

5. Services we use that receive some information

To run the site we use the following third-party services. Each receives technical information such as your IP address and, where described, the place or postcode involved:

  • Our web hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
  • MapTiler and OpenStreetMap, which supply the map images and place-name searches.
  • postcodes.io, which turns UK postcodes into map positions.
  • The OSRM routing service, which works out driving distances between a job location and installers.
  • Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on the site.

These providers have their own privacy policies and act as independent controllers or as our processors depending on the service.

6. Transfers outside the UK

Some of the services above, including our hosting provider and font and map suppliers, may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

7. How long we keep information

  • Installer listings and accounts: for as long as the listing is active. If an installer asks us to remove their listing, we delete it and their account details, other than anything we are legally required to keep.
  • Enquiry and contact-form emails and reference numbers: for up to 24 months, in case of follow-up questions or disputes.
  • Server logs: for up to 90 days.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: be told how your information is used; access a copy of it; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to its use; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To use any of these rights, send us a message through our contact form. We will normally reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including keeping installer contact details out of public pages and restricting access to them to site administrators.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
